After Orientation

So Now What?

By now, you should have an idea of the classes you’ll be taking in the fall and a clearer picture of what it takes to be a UConn Engineer. Before you enjoy the rest of your summer break, here are some things to keep in mind:

    Instructions:

    • Based on the information you provided, your advisor will enroll you in your Fall 2022 semester coursework within 48 hours.
    • You will be unable to make any changes to your schedule until add/drop in student admin re-opens July 21 through the first 10 days of Fall classes.

Changing your schedule (instructions & troubleshooting RCs/permission required):

    • Changes to your schedule should only be made for a) new AP scores, b) if you prefer to change your Gen Ed/ENGL or UNIV course, or c) if you have become aware of a new scheduling conflict.
    • Course seating is limited. Changes based on time preference are not permitted. If you drop a course you need to make degree progress (MATH, CSE, lab science), you may have to wait to take the course in the spring.
    • July Drop-in Hours: Your assigned advisor is available to answer questions during their summer drop-in hours starting July 21 – 28 (see below).

    General Reminders

Be smart! Don’t get in trouble, or it could affect your ability to start with us next semester!

    • Pro-tip: Familiarize yourself with campus as best you can. This interactive map can help you find the buildings your classes are in. Keep in mind that the buildings and instructors you see on your schedule could change between now and the first day of classes. We recommend taking a photo or printing a fresh schedule right before classes start to make sure the one you have is up to date.
    • In addition, read through the student FAQ page on this site to familiarize yourself with what you can expect in your first year and beyond.
    • Most importantly, have some fun! Try to relax, refresh, and enjoy your summer break as much as you can!
